Glass Dish detergent and home cleaning solutions are the most effective cleaners. Remove any stuck-on debris with a glass-safe, nonabrasive material. Many scrub brushes will scratch glass, so opt for one designed to tackle tough cleanup jobs without marking your furniture. After an initial cleaning, spray on white vinegar or glass cleaner and wipe away with a microfiber cloth or paper towel. Clean the underside of a glass table at least once a month to prevent irreversible grime. Cover a glass table when it’s not in use. Commercial window cleaners can’t always keep your glass tables clean. Fix small scratches and chips in glass with a glass-repair kit from an automotive retailer. Clean frames of glass tables according to their material type.

The most common product used to kill mold and mildew is bleach. It can be used on canvas and other fabrics, but you risk the chance of causing fabric discoloration and if the solution is too strong, it can even cause canvas and other fabrics to deteriorate. To make a bleach solution appropriate for cleaning mildew from outdoor furniture fabrics, dilute ½ cup of bleach in a gallon of water and apply it with a spray bottle. Test for color fastness on a section of fabric that is least noticeable before you spray the entire cushion. After applying, scrub the bleach mixture into the fabric with a scrub brush and rinse with clean water.

If you notice mildew on the umbrella, act fast and clean it well to prevent more growth. The simple way to accomplish this is to brush off as much mildew as possible using a scrub brush and then spray the umbrella with a 1:1 solution of vinegar and water on the affected area. Leave it for 30 minutes to soak. Take a clean scrub brush and remove the remaining mildew from the umbrella by gently scrubbing. Hose it down when done to remove the solution and mildew. Re-spray the area with the vinegar and water solution to protect against mildew build up and repeat this monthly. (In fact, this is a safe solution that can be sprayed on all outdoor furniture to keep mildew away.)
