We liked the grilled chicken arepa ($12 for one large arepa). I also enjoyed the plantains with black beans and coconut rice. Service was perfunctory. Very casual – space for about 20 people to sit. Helpful? Thank jay s Report Adriana V, Owner at Pica Pica Arepa Kitchen, responded to this review Jay, we’re glad everything impressed you — I really recommended the shredded beef or the pulled pork, some good flavors packed in there! It comes with avocado and a pickled coleslaw. I also tried the coconut flan which is heavenly. Both were $15 and so worth it. Helpful? Thank oliviakimsf Report Adriana V, Owner at Pica Pica Arepa Kitchen, responded to this review I’m thrilled to see that you stopped in twice throughout the week — it’s always a pleasure to give you the meals that keep you coming back. You should try he cachapa, the swetness plays off the pork flavors really well. Ido hope we’ll get the chance to share even more with you. Take care! Sincerely, Adriana, Owner More

For many, Pica Pica can be translated as a “little bit of this, a little bit of that”. At Pica Pica you can get a little bit of spicy, a little bit of sweet, some crunch and a lot of flavor! So we encourage you to explore our menu. If you have never had our food, we suggest you start with the Arepa Pabellón, a side of yuca fries and a glass of passion fruit fresca or sangria.

On Triple D, Guy called the arepas at Pica Pica a “corn pocket wonder.” The gluten-free tortilla acts as the container for dozens of Pica Pica’s dishes. Guy’s pick? The Arepa Beef Pabellon stuffed with shredded beef, sweet plantains and a black bean spread. Vegetarians, note: Tofu is available here.

The price is reasonable and the food is a change from the Tex Mex offerings of the neighborhood. Helpful? Thank Carl K Report Adriana V, Owner at Pica Pica Arepa Kitchen, responded to this review Thanks for spreading the word about us, Carl! We definitely stand out as a Venzuelan restaurant as opposed to Tex-Mex cuisine. Hope you’ll come back soon for another delicious arepa and fun times! Until next time, Adriana, Owner More

Description Pica Pica’s signature dish is the arepa, a grilled corn pocket crunchy on the outside, moist on the inside, and stuffed with your choice of slow-cooked meats, beans, plantains, cheese or vegetables. . . All inspired by traditional family recipes. These recipes offer a distinctive combination of sweet, savory and spicy flavors that are the soul and signature of Venezuelan cuisine. Some feel the taste is reminiscent of their Latin culinary heritage; others find it exotic, tropical and adventuresome, inviting travel and discovery. When someone bites into an Arepa de Pabellon and says it is the most amazing food he or she has ever tasted, we are reminded of why we brought our food to California. Our menu also offers sides to share (yuca fries, sweet plantains, empanadas, plantain and taro chips, ceviche) as well as salads, platters, desserts, fresh juices, beer and wine.
